Gender-based Violence Prevention and Education presents Vivek Shraya and her film “What I LOVE about being QUEER”.
This virtual presentation will feature a screening of this film and a broader discussion about the film’s genesis, with an emphasis on need for conversations about queer celebration in the face of ongoing homophobia and transphobia.
The showcase will occur virtually via Zoom on November 10th, 2021 at 7:00 pm.

UA research study being conducted at Mount Saint Vincent university in Halifax would like to know the experiences of Black Canadian students and trainees' experiences in STEMM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, and Medicine). The Starfish Canada has extended an opportunity towards our community here at Western. They have just launched the Top 25 Environmentalists under 25 program for this year. Every year, The Starfish Canada launches the program to celebrate young environmentalists across Canada who are tirelessly working to better their communities and the planet. The purpose of this study is to explore the unique intersectional social service and programming needs of Canadian Queer (non-binary, trans, LGBTQ+) Muslims. You will be asked to participate in an interview (60 to 90 minutes) to discuss your experiences while accessing social services from mainstream LGBTQ+ and Muslim organizations in Canada. You will be provided with a $25 honorarium gift card for Amazon by email.
